Astrid Nour is an alien from the planet Dinneilea. She comes from one of the five houses that make up the ruling Council of Dinneilea: House Nour, which stands for House of Science. As such, she is expected to follow in the footsteps of her father and all the ancestors before her and become a scientist herself. Despite her father's persistence and schooling, Astrid has a long ambition of becoming a Drax, a soldier.
In her ambition to serve her planet, Astrid comes up with a plan to infiltrate the enemy planet Larth, using an advanced perception filter. When the Council denies and belittles her strategy, she goes rogue and enacts the plan on her own. Her rushed decision places her face to face with the alluring, yet strong-willed, princess of Larth, Amora. Fighting her attraction for the cold princess, Astrid gets lured into a hunt for the Last of the Time Lords, a being with such power that is able to single-handedly win the Larth-Dinneilean war once and for all.
But the journey is not straightforward. Astrid discovers that not all she knows is true and that both sides have hidden the reason behind the war. Desperate for confirmation, Astrid returns home only to be betrayed by her own family and then framed for the murder of the Council. Once again on the run, Astrid's only hope is Amora and the new people she met on her journey: Noemi, Raven, and Ramiel.
Despite her initial aversion to follow in her father's footsteps, the lessons he had given her come in handy against the obstacles she and her new friends encountered. Having a new-found appreciation for the skills of her family, Astrid must decide whether to embrace the Nour legacy or carve her own path.
